Biography - My name is Patrick Uptmore and I am a lifelong resident of Waco and surrounding areas. I attended McLennan Community College for two years, before completing my Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance at Texas Tech University, home of the Red Raiders. I started my educational career through the alternative educator preparation program offered through iTeach Teacher Certification. I have since received my Master of Education in Educational Administration from Tarleton State University.
This is my eighth year in education and I am proud to say that I have had the privilege of serving the students and staff of Waco ISD in all of them. I joined Waco ISD in late August of 2006 as a mathematics teacher at University Middle School, where I spent 3 years as a classroom teacher. I then had the fortune to work with the Algebra Readiness Grant as an Instructional Coach and Grant Coordinator for two years with four of our middle school campuses. After the completion of the grant, I moved into the Office of Professional Development where I currently serve as Director.
Not only has Waco ISD provided me with a career that I truly love, but it even played a role in providing me the love of my life, my wife, Whitney Uptmore, who is also an educator in Waco ISD. Together we have three boys; Clayton, Kylan, and Camden, and one Hamster; Henry, Jr.
In my spare time I am active in coaching youth sports at HOT Soccer Complex and Lorena Little League, where I also serve on the LLL Board. I enjoy building things with my hands and often have several projects started around the house (finished is another story….) at all times. I am proud to be a part of all the positive change that is taking place in Waco ISD and look forward to coming to work each and every day.
